Trius
History In 1998 Dwayne Hassenplug and Jeff Gillen worked together in an organization very similar to the one Trius Technologies’, Inc. offers today. Dwayne held the position of V.P. of Sales and Jeff was in charge of purchasing and operations. They were both employees of a company that they had helped grow from a few million dollars to over 20 million in revenues and one of Sacramento’s Top 25 Fastest Growing Companies in the region. One thing that Hassenplug and Gillen learned during that period was not how to own and operate a business but rather how “NOT” to own and operate a business. Early in 1999 the company that Hassenplug and Gillen had been employed was running into difficulties financially as well as operationally. The company brought in upper management to handle the success that had been built over the years. This proved to be very costly to the place that Hassenplug & Gillen called home. The two ambitious and very loyal employees saw the writing on the wall and it was time to leave. Based on testimony from the customers that Hassenplug handled for many years it was obvious that Sacramento needed a company (small business) to be able to provide value add products and services to the State Government as well as to the commercial market in California. It was at this moment, July 1999 that Trius Technologies, Inc. was born. If the greater Sacramento area wanted Quality Computer Products and Low Voltage Voice and Data Services all they would have to do is “Try Us”! On August 1st,
Dwayne and Jeff signed a three year lease into office space where they
currently reside at 4700 Northgate Blvd. in Natomas without ever selling
one Toner Cartridge or Cabling
one network. “Oh my gosh
what have we done?” asked Jeff Gillen.
It was that day that Hassenplug looked into his business
partner’s eyes and vowed a viable business!
Through the support of customers that had dealt with Hassenplug
for many years Trius Technologies was able to do over $1 million in
revenues their first year and has grown significantly over the years.
By demand, Trius provides California with quality Computer
Products and Specialized Structured Cabling. All this support and success has led to the honor and opportunity to give back! Trius has been given the privilege of being a major sponsor of the Pro Circuit Futures Tournament at Natomas by way of Mr. Gillen. It is Jeff’s love of tennis that has made it possible for Trius to play a major part in sponsoring this wonderful event in Sacramento. During Jeff’s college days, his roommate happened to play #1 singles on the college tennis team and being a consummate competitor – Jeff challenged him to a tennis match, thinking that his basketball skills might translate into hitting a “little yellow ball over a net!” You can well imagine how that went…perhaps it was 2 “GOLDEN SETS” in favor of Gordon Cromwell! 4 years later, Jeff was honored with the Most Improved Player at Oregon State University’s Club Tennis Team and has been in love with the sport ever since. The past 2 years, Trius Technologies has been a sponsor at Future Tournaments in Woodland, CA however this year has decided to “up the ante” and play a larger role in having professional tennis in Sacramento by becoming the title sponsor to this 1st event. We are appreciative to all who have allowed us this great privilege, Natomas Racquet Club, Spare Time Clubs, Scott Potthast, Glenn Davis and others. Dwayne and Jeff along with
Trius Technologies, Inc and its employees take pride in being able to
give back to the community of Sacramento.
It is our excellent reputation and commitment to provide
exemplary products, service, and value to all existing and future
clients that allows us to be a part of great events like the Futures
Tournament in Natomas. Trius
has positioned itself to nurture and develop long lasting and mutually
beneficial relationships with all of our customers.
Our objective is to work with our customers as their needs
change. It is understood
